Continuing our nautical theme with a Kurt Russell twist, this week we watch Chrysten's pick, Overboard!  Starring real life #relationshipgoals couple Kurt Russell (hubba hubba!) and Goldie Hawn (hubba hubba!), the story centers on struggling carpenter and father of four, Dean Proffitt.  When he takes a job building a shoe closet for snobby and insufferable yacht owner, Joanna Stayton, she insults him and ultimately stiffs him on his payment.  When Joanna accidentally falls off the aforementioned yacht, she suffers amnesia.  Dean, looking to seek revenge on his abusive former client, picks her up and convinces her they are married and turns her into the lower middle class housewife she always abhorred!  Dean only intends for the ruse to continue for a month, but when he and Joanna unexpectedly fall in love, things get tricky!  OK, ok, listen...we realize what this premise sounds like.  Just stick with us...How else will you find out if Dan fell "overboard" for this movie?  And don't forget to RATE, REVIEW & SUBSCRIBE!

As a wave goodbye to the golden days of summer, we are sticking with our nautical theme of the past few episodes and watching Dan's pick Captain Ron!  Martin Short plays Martin Harvey, a middle-aged man with a boring desk job who dreams of a big adventure beyond his home city of Chicago.  When he inherits his uncle's boat, he takes his wife (Mary Kay Place) and two kids to the Caribbean for a long adventure on the high seas!  When the boat dealer he has agreed to deliver the boat to at the end of his trip learns of the boat's less-than-stellar condition, he hires a cut-rate local sea captain to help the Harvey family on their journey.  The titular character Captain Ron (played by American treasure and certified hunk, Kurt Russell) is not exactly the type of captain the Harveys bargained for and plenty of high seas hi-jinks ensue!  But will Chrysten and Dan be charmed by the eye-patched antics of Kurt Russell with Martin Short as the straight man?  Join us and find out!  And don't forget to RATE, REVIEW & SUBSCRIBE!

Who doesn't love Tom Hanks?  For those of us that grew up in the golden age of Hanks, this movie is the one that started it all.  This week, we dive into Chrysten's darling, the 80s oceanic rom-com, Splash! When produce company owner, Allen Bauer's live-in girlfriend breaks up with him, he takes a cab ride from NYC to Cape Cod (not a real thing you can do in NY, btw) to do some soul searching.  While in Cape Cod he is saved from drowning by a mysterious, beautiful woman who follows him to NY.  They spend a week together and fall madly in love.  But there's something fishy about this mysterious lady...she's a mermaid!  Starring the aforementioned Tom Hanks as Allen, Daryl Hannah as Madison the mermaid, John Candy as Allen's womanizer brother, Freddie, and Eugene Levy as a crazy scientist hell bent on exposing Madison's secret to the world!  It's a sweet and sexy twist on your typical rom-com that Chrysten has loved since she was in short fins.  But will her cynical sweetheart, Dan, be as swept away?  Join us and find out!  And don't forget to RATE, REVIEW & SUBSCRIBE!

This week was Dan's pick...and hoo boy...it was...something.  This week we watch extended after school special and large water mammal liberation film, Free Willy.  We open with orphan and stereotypical bad kid, Jesse, vandalizing the tank of Willy the whale, the main attraction at a local marine park.  When Jesse is caught, he has to work at the park removing the graffiti he and his bad kid friends...sprayed?  Tagged?  Whatever, I'm old...  During his time at the park he forms a special connection with fellow bad kid, Willy, who refuses to let the park's trainer (Lori Petty) tame him.  Also, Michael Madsen is Jesse's foster dad and he is...very Michael Madsen in this.  We spent most of the movie just waiting for him to cut somebody's ear off while playing Steeler's Wheel, but, alas...Featuring an amazing closing song by Michael Jackson, this is a "whale" of a morality tale.  But will our hosts be moved by its message?  Join us and find out!  And don't forget to RATE, REVIEW & SUBSCRIBE!
